Funding imports
Fri, 15 Feb 2008
If you have a confirmed customer order in place you are generally able to arrange trade finance to fund the purchase and clearance of goods on a transaction by transaction basis.
Funding may also be posssible for other importing situations.
Where a lender can see a confirmed order for the goods from a credit worthy customer then arranging import finance is generally straight forwards. The lender's principle security for the transaction are the goods involved so the need for the lender to seek supporting security or personal guarantees is usually minimal.
Funding the import of goods where you do not have a confirmed order is more difficult but can be done where the lender can be convinced about the sales prospects.
In some cases as part of the package the lender can also provide a full service solution including the UK warehousing, logistics and despatch support.
